DUNEDIN CHAPTER

LOCAL CHARTER FOR MEMBERS

 AIM: The aim of Dunedin Chapter is to promote responsible motorcycling activities for Harley Owners Group members and encourage members to become involved in other H.O.G. events in a safe, fun and family orientated manner.

 This Local Charter is intended to support and build on the principals of the Annual Charter for H.O.G. Chapters

 1. Dunedin Chapter shall perform to the standards required by the Dealership (Edinburgh Harley-Davidson) and in doing so will ensure that they abide by the terms and principles of the Annual Charter for H.O.G. Chapters. 

2. The Dealer Principal of Edinburgh Harley-Davidson will appoint the Chapter Director and Assistant Director.

 3. The main Chapter officers (secretary, treasurer, editor/webmaster and events organiser) will be selected bi-annually, by the Dealer Principal, Chapter Director and Assistant Director from members volunteering their services for these posts, unless due to circumstances when it necessitates any changes out-with this period of time.

 4. Prior to selection, volunteers for Chapter officer positions must give a minimum of four weeks notice to the existing Committee.

 5. All membership applications have to be fully supported by both the Dealership, Edinburgh Harley-Davidson and the committee of the Dunedin Chapter.

6. Memberships shall run from 1st February to 31st January each year.

7. An Annual General Meeting will be held in February each year.

8. Membership fees will be set and agreed for the forth-coming year at the AGM.

9. There will be 3 types of Chapter membership available renewable annually at 31st January:

                  ·        The first a full membership for the first bike riding member of the family.

·        The second will be a full membership for a second bike riding member of the same family.

·        The third will be an associate membership for a non-riding pillion passenger.

10. Edinburgh Harley-Davidson and the Dunedin Chapter Committee will have the right to interview and veto any prospective applicant if it is deemed not to be in the best interest of all parties.

11. All committee members will be expected to carry out their duties in full accordance with the descriptions given in the Annual Charter for H.O.G. Chapters.

12. All Chapter members will be expected to support the Dealership (Edinburgh Harley- Davidson) and the Dunedin Chapter in a participative manner and conduct themselves in a manner that supports and promotes the Harley-Davidson ethos.

13. All Chapter members will be expected where possible to support and participate in Chapter activities and events.

14. The Dealership (Edinburgh Harley-Davidson) and the Dunedin Chapter Committee reserve the right to terminate the membership of any member at any time if they fail to meet the requirements of these charters.

15. Chapter meetings and events will be open to Chapter members and invited guests only.
